In 2017, Penumbra partnered with Sixense Enterprises, a company focused on VR hardware and software for enterprises, to jointly create the REAL System.From hospital bedsides to outpatient facilities, the REAL y series is a portable, fully immersive, full-body, hands-free solution that therapists use to engage patients in goal-oriented therapeutic exercises, thereby enhancing patient motivation and compliance. Upper body focus areas include shoulder range of motion (ROM), while lower body focus areas include hip abduction, adduction, flexion, and extension; knee flexion and extension; reactive movements, and sustained attention.
