PUREVISION, a Suzhou-based medical technology company, has established a glaucoma treatment model primarily based on non-bleb-dependent surgery. They have designed a glaucoma micro-stent to address open-angle glaucoma, which is predominant in European and American populations, as well as angle-closure glaucoma, which accounts for 90% of cases among Asian populations. The stent has been granted a Chinese national invention patent and a British invention patent, with a U.S. invention patent currently under review. The micro-stent will extend the range of indications for the improved penetrating canaloplasty while achieving a very high surgical success rate. It is also the only internationally available glaucoma treatment stent that is unaffected by the morphology of the chamber angle.
