Sairopa B.V. is a clinical-stage company developing novel cancer treatments by modulating the patient's immune system. The introduction of so-called immune checkpoint inhibitors has revolutionized cancer therapy, enhancing the immune response against the patient’s own tumor. However, only about 30% of cancer patients benefit from this treatment. It is widely accepted that for a productive anti-cancer immune response to occur, all elements of the cancer immunity cycle need to function: tumor antigen release, antigen processing, presentation, T-cell activation, and blocking local immunosuppression in the tumor.
