Basic Information
EuMentis Therapeutics is a privately held clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel therapies to treat neuropsychiatric disorders with significant unmet needs. The company’s most advanced candidate product, EM-221, is a first-in-class oral PDE10A inhibitor designed to specifically modulate the dopamine D2 pathway in the striatum. EuMentis plans to initiate a Phase 2 study of EM-221 for the treatment of Tourette syndrome in the second half of 2023. EuMentis is also developing EM-2023, a non-competitive, fast-acting NMDA receptor antagonist for treating autism spectrum disorder patients with elevated brain glutamate levels as determined by MR spectroscopy. Additionally, EuMentis is expanding its pipeline by developing extrasynaptic NMDAR antagonists for the treatment of various conditions where elevated glutamate levels contribute to pathophysiology, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), currently funded by an award from the U.S. Department of Defense.
