Siva Therapeutics is developing targeted hyperthermia therapy, a preclinical photothermal cancer treatment that uses therapeutic heat to treat solid cancer tumors. In the proposed treatment, heat is delivered to the tumor via infrared light, which is absorbed by SivaRods™ gold nanorods in the tumor and re-emitted as heat.
