Innogen was founded in 2014 as a science-driven biotechnology company dedicated to providing innovative, accessible, and affordable high-quality medicines for patients with metabolic diseases. The company currently has multiple R&D pipelines targeting diabetes, obesity, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), all of which are self-developed with global patents. In the future, the company plans to expand its R&D and market sales globally.The company’s first pipeline product, Supaglutide, has entered Phase III clinical trials for Type 2 diabetes indications. Once launched, it will become China’s first domestically developed humanized long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist, benefiting more diabetes patients. Its founder, Chairman, and CEO, Dr. Qinghua Wang, the inventor of Supaglutide, is a nationally appointed expert and the principal investigator/chief scientist of the "Major New Drug Discovery" projects during the 12th and 13th Five-Year Plans. Professor Wang Qinghua was formerly a tenured professor at the University of Toronto and an executive committee member of the world-leading Banting & Best Diabetes Centre.Innogen owns an advanced recombinant protein biologics technology platform for the continuous development of innovative biologics. The company is currently building a commercial production base in Lingang New Area, Shanghai, that meets GMP standards, with capacity to meet the later commercialization needs of Supaglutide.
