AVS is an early-stage medical device company focused on the safe and effective treatment of severe calcific arterial disease. Founded in 2018 by Dr. Hitinder Gurm, an interventional cardiologist at the University of Michigan and Chief Clinical Officer of AVS, and Dr. Robert Chisena, Chief Technology Officer of AVS. AVS is the first company to develop Pulsatile Intravascular Lithotripsy (PIVL), a therapy delivered through a balloon platform known as the Pulse IVL System. It is designed to be the only minimally invasive technology that uses a single device to gently crush calcium and open arteries.
