NEC Group is a multinational information technology company based in Japan, with its headquarters located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. NEC provides information technology (IT) and network products to commercial enterprises, communication services, and government sectors. It is known as "Enyiqi" in Taiwan. The business scope of the NEC Group is mainly divided into three parts: IT Solutions, Network Solutions, and Electronic Devices. IT Solutions primarily offers software, hardware, and related services to commercial enterprises, governments, and individual users. Network Solutions focuses on designing and providing broadband systems, mobile and wireless communication network systems, mobile phones, broadcasting, and other systems. NEC's electronic devices include semiconductors, displays, and other electronic components. NEC also manufactures the Versa series of notebook computers for the international market and the Lavie series of notebook computers for the domestic Japanese market. NEC is also the manufacturer of the Earth Simulator, which was the fastest supercomputer at the time. NEC is a member of the Sumitomo Group.
