Basic Information
Bioxytran is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing platform technologies in the fields of glycobiology, hypoxia, and degenerative diseases, utilizing carbohydrate-based drug design to eliminate viruses and extend lifespan. Bioxytran uses galectin inhibitors to combat the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This technology is built on the lifelong work of the company's founder, Dr. David Platt. Dr. Platt expressed and named the human galectin-3 protein encoded by the single gene LGALS3, located on chromosome 14. Galectin inhibitors block the binding of galectins to carbohydrate structures, which are present in various diseases, thereby reducing their replication ability. Over the years, Dr. Platt has used this knowledge to create a range of sustainable therapeutic solutions.
