Bioxytran is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing platform technologies in the fields of glycobiology, hypoxia, and degenerative diseases, utilizing carbohydrate-based drug design to eliminate viruses and extend lifespan. Bioxytran uses galectin inhibitors to combat the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This technology is built on the lifelong work of the company's founder, Dr. David Platt. Dr. Platt expressed and named the human galectin-3 protein encoded by the single gene LGALS3, located on chromosome 14.
