Basic Information
IMUNON, Inc. is a fully integrated clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on advancing a range of innovative therapies that leverage the body's natural mechanisms to produce safe, effective, and durable responses across a wide array of human diseases, representing an approach distinct from traditional therapies. IMUNON possesses two platform technologies: the TheraPlas® platform for developing immunotherapies and other nucleic acid-based anticancer treatments, and the PLACCINE platform for developing nucleic acid vaccines for infectious diseases and cancer. The company’s lead clinical program, GEN-1, is a DNA-based immunotherapy for localized treatment of advanced ovarian cancer currently in Phase II development. GEN-1 works by instructing the body to produce potent, safe, and long-lasting anticancer molecules such as interleukin-12 and interferon gamma at the tumor site. Additionally, the company is conducting preclinical proof-of-concept studies for a SARS-CoV-2 virus-targeted nucleic acid vaccine candidate to validate its PLACCINE platform. IMUNON’s platform technologies are based on delivering nucleic acids using novel synthetic delivery systems independent of viral vectors or devices. IMUNON will continue to leverage these platforms to advance the technological frontier of nucleic acid-based products, better serving patients with refractory diseases.
