Basic Information
Capitainer, founded in 2016, has developed a volumetric blood collection device that enables patients to collect an accurate amount of blood, plasma, or urine, which is then preserved in a dried form. The patented technology ensures an accurate sample volume of 10µl with a low CV, unaffected by hematocrit levels. Patients need to drop a single drop of capillary blood from a finger prick onto the inlet of a qDBS card, which automatically fills the required volume of microchannels and discards any excess. Subsequently, the blood volume contained within the microchannels is automatically transferred to the specimen collection disc, forming a high-quality dried blood spot sample for preservation and quantitative bioanalysis.
