Romans Ferrari is a pediatric rehabilitation institution that has been treating children with severe burns for many years. The goal of the company's collaboration with 3DZ is to find a more convenient way to manufacture orthoses used for treating facial burns. Using traditional methods to make facial orthoses requires taking a facial impression, which is then used to create a perfectly flexible mask replica. In this method, the face is shaped using plaster strips applied directly to the skin, which can cause some harm to a person’s skin, especially the delicate and sensitive skin of children.
