Basic Information

MagArray was founded in 2005 by Stanford University professors who applied magnetic sensing technology from the computer disk drive industry to medical diagnostics. MagArray's technology is based on giant magnetoresistance (GMR) nanosensors, which are used as read head elements in computer hard drives to detect biomolecules or biomarkers labeled with magnetic nanoparticles. Using this groundbreaking technology, MagArray has developed a simple, ultrasensitive multiplex immunoassay system. This system offers high sensitivity and overcomes the limitations of other common clinical analysis techniques, providing significant advantages for laboratory and clinical assay designers. The vision of our cutting-edge CLIA lab includes expanding our platform to develop diagnostic tests for various cancers, allergies, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, and inflammatory conditions. MagArray has previously received early funding and support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). It was also selected as a recipient of the prestigious and competitive Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase IIb Bridge Award. The company has established strategic partnerships with world-class medical centers in the U.S. and globally leading Fortune 500 companies to commercialize magnetic nanosensor detection technology.
