Intrinsic Medicine, Inc. is a preclinical-stage therapeutic company leveraging synthetically biology-produced human milk oligosaccharide (HiMO) molecules as novel drugs to treat a large patient population underserved by current treatment options. Our initial drug candidate is based on bioactive oligosaccharides naturally found in breast milk, known as human milk oligosaccharides, or HMOs, which modulate bacteria in the gut, or the gut microbiome, as well as human cells. We believe HMOs exert beneficial effects through multiple mechanisms of action.
