Retro Biosciences Focuses on Cellular Reprogramming, Autophagy, and Plasma-Inspired Therapies. By targeting the cellular drivers of aging, Retro aims to design treatments that could ultimately prevent a range of diseases. In their plasma project, plasma interventions are being characterized and optimized in preclinical and clinical settings, with the first development candidate expected within two years. Their cellular reprogramming efforts are closest to fundamental research, operating at the most upstream aspects of aging mechanisms, with plans to achieve clinical proof-of-concept within the next four years. To support these three projects, they are heavily investing in single-cell multi-omics, machine learning-based computational biology, and laboratory automation.
