Buoy Health, formerly QUR, is a computerized question-and-answer doctor that provides personalized medical information, replacing late-night Google searches and frightening internet forums. At the core of Buoy is a machine-learning adaptive diagnostic generator with the ability to express empathy and humor. Patients input their symptoms, then are asked a series of adaptive questions that narrow down possible diagnoses behind the scenes. At the end of the "visit," patients are given possible diagnoses, options for follow-up actions, and, if necessary, advice on where to find the appropriate level of care.
