VируCure Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing an oncolytic virus-based technology platform using a patented Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) for targeted therapy of various cancers. ViruCure's robust NADAV platform has demonstrated significant oncolytic effects against multiple cancers, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and lung cancer, which are the two initial targets that ViruCure aims to address. In a Phase 1/2 clinical trial involving patients with advanced GBM, 4 out of 12 patients responded to the treatment, with one achieving complete remission.The oncolytic effect of NADAV appears to result from direct tumor cell destruction (cell death) and the activation of a general anti-tumor immune response. This powerful amplification effect is achieved with very low toxicity since NADAV specifically destroys tumor cells without attacking normal tissues. Moreover, as Newcastle Disease Virus is an avian virus, over 40 years of research have shown no pathological impact or severe illness in humans. ViruCure believes that NADAV could be a breakthrough for cancers that respond poorly to traditional treatments.
