Shanghai S&T Venture Capital (Group) Co., Ltd. was established in August 2014, approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government, through the strategic reorganization of Shanghai Science and Technology Investment Company (founded in 1992) and Shanghai Venture Capital Co., Ltd. (founded in 1999). It is a state-owned venture capital enterprise primarily focused on promoting science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. Its core businesses include investment and investment services related to technology and entrepreneurship. The group operates four major functional platforms: funding and management of government strategic emerging industry projects, investment and management of government venture capital funds, proprietary capital investment, and technology financial services. It has become an important investment and financing platform for strategic emerging industries under the Shanghai Municipal Government. To date, Shanghai S&T Venture Capital Group owns eight wholly-owned subsidiaries and controls 13 companies. The group's total assets amount to 36.3 billion yuan, with managed capital reaching 67.5 billion yuan. It has invested in over 100 venture capital funds, more than 1,000 science and technology innovation enterprises, and provided services to over 10,000 small and micro enterprises. Thirty-one of its portfolio companies have been listed on the STAR Market (including AMEC, SMIC, Cambricon, Heartflow Medical, Shanghai Siltron Technology, Titan Technology, etc.). Among the 304 companies listed on the STAR Market, those invested by Shanghai S&T Venture Capital Group account for 10%. Additionally, ten companies have passed the listing review, and applications from 31 companies have been accepted.
