Cascade Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was registered and established on December 26, 2017. It specializes in the original innovative research and development of targeted nuclear receptor drugs, focusing on significant unmet clinical needs such as metabolic diseases and inflammation. CASCADE concentrates on the early discovery, drug development, and subsequent commercialization of innovative nuclear receptor drugs. Currently, CASCADE's R&D team consists of more than 40 members. The core R&D team has been engaged in nuclear receptor research for over 20 years, accumulating extensive experience in new drug R&D in areas like metabolic diseases, cancer, and inflammation targeting nuclear receptors. They possess a rich background in new drug R&D and the biopharmaceutical industry, while also having leading expertise in structure-based drug design using protein crystal structures. Driven by its innovative foundation, CASCADE has built a preclinical R&D team with standardized operations and corresponding system platforms, including advanced SPF-level animal facilities, drug design and synthesis platforms, and pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and efficacy research platforms. Meanwhile, the company emphasizes differentiated innovative drug development and has established a rich and risk-balanced pipeline of Class 1 new drugs. Its first pipeline has received FDA approval to conduct clinical trials and is about to initiate Phase 1 clinical trials by the end of the year for indications such as PSC, primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). It has also obtained orphan drug designation for PSC.
