Jarvik Heart

Jarvik Heart is a private company that develops miniature cardiac assist devices for the treatment of advanced heart failure. The Jarvik 2000® is a ventricular assist device that has received CE Mark approval in Europe for use as a bridge to transplant and for destination therapy. In Japan, the Jarvik 2000® has been approved by PMDA for bridge-to-transplant use. In the United States, the Jarvik 2000® is an investigational device for destination therapy to support patients for a lifetime. Worldwide, there have been over 1,000 Jarvik 2000® implants.
