Prometic BioTherapeutics

Prometic BioTherapeutics, a subsidiary of ProMetic Life Sciences Inc., has a team of 130 employees in Laval, Quebec. They developed Ryplazim®, the first FDA-approved treatment for congenital plasminogen deficiency. Ryplazim® is approved for all clinical manifestations of plasminogen deficiency and can be used to treat severe complications such as blindness and respiratory failure. The active ingredient in Ryplazim is plasminogen, which is extracted and purified from human plasma. Ryplazim treatment helps increase plasma plasminogen levels, temporarily corrects plasminogen deficiency, and reduces or eliminates lesions.
