Latch Bio

Latch Bio was founded in 2021 by Alfredo Andere, Kyle Giffin, and Kenny Workman, who met while they were undergraduates at the University of California, Berkeley. Latch Bio is building a web-based platform that allows any biologist to analyze CRISPR data without needing to write any code or set up cloud infrastructure. Using the platform, any researcher can now create a centralized one-stop service for storing, transforming, and visualizing data without writing any code. Through these plugins, users can import files from existing data stacks, including Amazon S3, Benchling, and Illumina’s BaseSpace. Biologists can access dozens of workflows, including CRISPResso, MAGeCK, CasTLE, Cas.py, MultiQC, and CasOffinder. After executing specific workflows, users can further interrogate results using built-in genomic visualizers and quality control tools.
