Basic Information
HemaCell is a stem cell biopharmaceutical company founded by returned overseas experts, dedicated to using stem cells to directionally regenerate blood cells for cell therapy of various diseases and related drug development. The founding members of the company come from world-renowned universities such as Stanford University, Harvard University, and Peking University. Based on the globally leading system for the directed induction and differentiation of stem cells, HemaCell’s lead product is in vitro generated platelets, which address the urgent need for platelets in diseases such as cancer, liver disease, critical care emergencies, and blood disorders, while also developing innovative drugs for various platelet-related diseases. At the same time, HemaCell will leverage the globally advanced systems for the directed induction and differentiation of pluripotent stem cells (including embryonic stem cells and iPSCs) and adult stem cells, focusing on the in vitro regeneration of different cells derived from hematopoietic stem cells within the blood and immune systems, including platelets, red blood cells, macrophages, and NK cells. These cells are currently highly regarded candidates for cell therapy and drug delivery. Additionally, the company's proprietary non-viral, site-specific gene-editing technology is not only used for establishing and editing iPSC lines but also for efficiently inserting chimeric antigens into the genome. HemaCell looks forward to collaborating closely with cancer immunotherapy companies, combining these platforms to seize the high ground in engineered immune cell therapies derived from stem cell differentiation.
