Pearl Health is a team of doctors, technologists, and health plan leaders who believe that primary care providers are the key to American health. The pandemic has shown how important primary care is to our communities and how under-resourced PCPs are. We want to address this issue. Pearl believes that the contours of a direct contracting model can help primary care practices thrive. We launched Pearl Health to assist providers. We believe it is necessary to bring humanism back to healthcare by empowering physicians with more autonomy, incentives aligned with better outcomes, and actionable intelligence to enhance clinical decision-making. Pearl focuses on individual physicians and seeks to enable them to take care of patients more proactively and effectively with greater technological support. The company starts with Traditional Medicare (TM), creating a per-member-per-month payment structure for each of their collaborating physicians, allowing them to prioritize prevention and focus on patients who need care at every moment. This structure also allows physician partners to reorient around win-win opportunities for patients, doctors, and the healthcare system. We aim to put physicians back in the driver’s seat, enabling them to control patient care, scheduling, and finances. We start with Traditional Medicare because it is the largest undisturbed healthcare market in the United States.
