Basic Information
Soin Neuroscience is a private pharmaceutical company based in Ohio that is developing methods to treat various chronic medical conditions using oral sodium nitrite formulations. Initial research was conducted on patients with poor blood flow to the limbs, such as those suffering from peripheral artery disease (PAD). In the United States, 16 to 19 million people are affected by PAD, yet there is currently no effective treatment available. The company’s first product is TV1001, an oral sodium nitrite formulation for the treatment of PAD. Soin Neuroscience has completed Phase I and Phase II clinical studies of TV1001 in diabetic patients with PAD. The second phase aims to demonstrate the safety of long-term administration and evaluate the biological activity of certain parameters associated with PAD. The study confirmed the safety of TV1001 in diabetic patients with PAD and showed improvements in blood flow and pain scores. Following positive results from our Phase II study and understanding its efficacy in pain reduction, Soin Neuroscience's next-generation product, TV1001 SR—an extended-release enteric-coated formulation of sodium nitrite—is now being studied in patients with diabetic neuropathy.
