Sutra Medical, Inc. was founded in 2012 and is currently headquartered in Lake Forest, California. The company designs and develops solutions for treating transcatheter heart disease. Its founding team has extensive academic and industry experience. Sutra Medical's key product under development, the Sutra HemiValve, is a transcatheter mitral valve treatment device that combines valve replacement and repair technologies. The device aims to treat mitral regurgitation using an edge-to-edge reinforcement technique targeting only the posterior leaflet of the mitral valve. The Sutra HemiValve is currently in the preclinical evaluation stage. Early preclinical results show that, at 120 days post-implantation in animals, the leaflets were well coapted with no central mitral regurgitation.
