Suzhou Hepa Thera Biotech Co., Ltd. (Hepa Thera Bio.) primarily focuses on the field of liver diseases, rapidly building its product pipeline through a combination of self-developed and licensed-in models. In terms of functional cures for chronic hepatitis B, Hepa Thera has introduced a small interfering RNA product and a hepatitis B surface antigen neutralizing antibody via licensing and co-development. Early animal studies have shown that both products can independently reduce hepatitis B surface antigen levels by approximately 2 log values and induce the production of S antibodies, offering the potential for functional cures in some chronic hepatitis B patients. Currently, both products have entered the CMC stage and are expected to begin clinical trials in 2022, exploring the possibility of combination therapy to provide more clinical options for chronic hepatitis B patients. Additionally, the company is actively expanding its technologies and products in other liver disease areas such as NASH.
