Nestlé Heath Science (NHSc), established in 2011, is a globally recognized leader in the field of nutritional science, committed to redefining health management. We offer a wide range of scientifically-based consumer health, medical nutrition, supplement brands, and pharmaceutical therapies.Approximately half of our business focuses on medical nutrition (products only available through healthcare providers), while the other half concentrates on consumer care or over-the-counter nutritional solutions.Our medical nutrition portfolio includes products and services recommended by healthcare professionals for patients with specific dietary needs related to diseases, disease states, or unique challenges at different life stages. These products are most relevant to institutional sectors—including hospitals, long-term and short-term care facilities, and home care—and are often reimbursed by insurance companies or public health services. The current portfolio focuses on pediatric care and food allergies, adult medical care, and acute care.As consumers become more health-conscious and informed, they are seeking nutritional solutions to help them lead healthier lives. In consumer care, we combine science-based innovation with global reach to address unmet and emerging individual needs. Our products can be found in pharmacies, retail stores, and online. We focus on healthy aging, healthy growth, gut health, and metabolic health, particularly in rapidly evolving areas such as obesity.In 2020, we expanded our portfolio to include pharmaceutical therapies. Through the acquisition of Aimmune Therapeutics, we established a global pharmaceutical business focused on treating potentially life-threatening food allergies and other food-mediated conditions, including gastrointestinal disorders. We also acquired Zenpep® and Viokace®, medications used to treat exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) caused by cystic fibrosis or other conditions. These are suitable for individuals who cannot digest food properly because their pancreas does not produce enough enzymes. Our experience in cystic fibrosis, gastrointestinal diseases, and other therapeutic areas with ZENPEP and VIOKACE allows us to understand patient needs well, and our strong network of healthcare professionals enables us to provide education on these medications.
