These neovascular eye conditions include neovascular age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), the leading cause of blindness in the Western world, as well as diabetic retinopathy.Currently available treatments can effectively slow vision loss and may improve vision in some patients, but they require careful follow-up and frequent, long-term intravitreal injections in many patients to optimize visual outcomes.
