NovaBiotics Ltd is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on designing and developing first-in-class anti-infective therapies for difficult-to-treat, medically unmet conditions.The company’s robust pipeline includes clinical-stage antimicrobial agents and ‘mini-biologic’ antimicrobial mucolytic compounds (Lynovex®) derived from NovaBiotics’ proprietary anti-infective peptide platform. NovaBiotics’ lead product, NP213 (Novexatin®), is being developed as a topical treatment for fungal nail infections (onychomycosis), which affect over 10% of the global population. In 2014, NP213 will undergo evaluation in a Phase IIb clinical trial with the company’s co-development partner, Taro Pharmaceuticals.
