Connect Biopharma is a clinical-stage company dedicated to discovering and developing next-generation immunomodulators for the treatment of severe autoimmune diseases and inflammation. Leveraging their expertise in T-cell modulation biology, they have built a robust portfolio of drug candidates comprising small molecules and antibodies targeting key inflammatory pathways. Their lead candidate is CBP-307, an internally discovered, orally active next-generation S1P1 and S1P5 (G protein-coupled receptor GPCR) modulator, which has potential applications for treating a range of serious chronic autoimmune conditions. They completed two Phase 1 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies in Australia and China involving 74 healthy volunteers to evaluate the tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of CBP-307. In these studies, CBP-307 demonstrated excellent safety, effective T-cell modulation activity, and optimal pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles, showcasing best-in-class potential. CBP-307 is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
