Basic Information
Innovative Molecules is a drug development company aimed at establishing new treatment standards for diseases induced by herpes simplex virus. The company is focusing on the development of IM-250, a potent second-generation hepatic enzyme-prodrug inhibitor for HSV-1 and HSV-2. Due to its efficacy, excellent neuronal tissue exposure, and long half-life, IM-250 has the potential to transform the treatment of herpes simplex-induced diseases. Preclinical data suggest that IM-250 can not only prevent active viral replication but may also reduce or even eradicate viral reservoirs, ultimately leading to fewer recurrences and possibly curing this potentially lifelong infection.
