Byondis originated from the long-standing pharmaceutical company Synthon and began its biopharmaceutical operations as part of Synthon BV in 2007. In 2012, the company spun off into a newly established biopharmaceutical subsidiary (named Synthon Biopharmaceuticals), quickly building a promising pipeline of innovative R&D projects. Synthon Biopharmaceuticals was renamed Byondis in 2020 to represent its independence and strategy. Byondis remains led by its original founders.
