MicrobiomX has developed a device for collecting and processing fecal samples for clinical use, which can safely, standardly, and conveniently process fecal samples into capsules or suppositories. The prototype of MicrobiomX's fecal collection and encapsulation device collects and processes fecal samples in a barrel-shaped device with a hand-crank. One crank concentrates and filters the sample, another crank produces a uniform slurry, and further turning of the crank compresses the sample into capsules, with options for oral or suppository administration. A separate capsule cutter processes the sample into a test tube suitable for mailing.
