Avisa Diagnostics (formerly FogChain Corp.) is a clinical-stage medical device company dedicated to developing the Avisa BreathTest™, a novel drug/device biomarker technology platform that enables ultra-rapid detection of toxic bacterial pathogens, as well as measurement and monitoring of bacterial load, after patients inhale or ingest its proprietary drug substrate. The company has established clinical proof-of-concept through trials in cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis, and community-acquired pneumonia, demonstrating positive safety and clinical efficacy. Avisa is planning pivotal trials in bronchiectasis and ventilator-associated pneumonia post-COVID-19 and intends to submit an Investigational Device Exemption application to the U.S. FDA for these trials next year.
