Basic Information
Interius BioTherapeutics is a preclinical-stage gene therapy company that has developed a paradigm-shifting platform for in vivo cell-specific gene delivery, cracking the code for targeted gene delivery through innovations in lentiviral vectors. By advancing next-generation delivery technologies invented in Dr. Saar Gill’s laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, Interius is expanding the potential of cell and gene therapies. Led by its CEO, Interius is initially focusing on treating hematologic malignancies by leveraging its delivery platform to generate chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) genes directly within T cells in vivo. This approach bypasses the need for ex vivo cell manipulation and the potentially toxic preconditioning chemotherapy required in standard CAR-T cell therapy. Utilizing its versatile platform, Interius is also developing applications beyond immuno-oncology to address diseases that current gene therapy modalities cannot treat.
