Tinnitracks

Sonormed GmbH was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. An interdisciplinary team of experts from the fields of sound engineering, computer science, psychology, and neurobiology continuously works on further developing and distributing the medical products Tinnitracks and Tinnimatch. These have been awarded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Heidelberg Innovation Forum, and the German Informatics Society. On March 15, 2015, Tinnitracks won the grand prize in the “Digital Health and Life Sciences” category at the SXSW Accelerator competition. This marked the first time that a German founding team triumphed in fierce international competition. Sonormed initially launched Tinnitracks as a web application but soon expanded the service to smartphone apps on iOS and Android. In September 2015, Tinnitracks became the first therapeutic smartphone or mobile application in Germany to be reimbursed by statutory health insurance companies. To broaden the use of Tinnitracks, Sonormed is now targeting the U.S. market. As a quarter-finalist, the company has received support from the German Accelerator Life Sciences in Boston, USA, to prepare for its market entry. With its technological infrastructure and direct market access, Sonormed is ideally positioned to drive transformation in the field of digital patient care and benefit from the convergence of consumer electronics and healthcare in the audiology sector.
