Appia Bio is an early-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Established in 2020, Appia Bio is committed to expanding patient indications through a scalable technology platform, discovering and developing engineered allogeneic cell therapies based on hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) for cancer patients. Leveraging its ACUA (Appia Cells for Universal Allogeneic) technology platform, Appia Bio harnesses the biological properties of lymphocyte development using chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T-cell receptor (TCR) gene engineering to generate invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cell subtypes derived from CAR-engineered hematopoietic stem cells (HSC).
