Westlake Genetech was founded in 2021 as a commercialization project of Dr. Ma Lijia's laboratory at the School of Life Sciences, Westlake University. The company is located in the Yunqi Town of Hangzhou’s Xihu District, where the Yunqi Campus of Westlake University is situated. Westlake Genetech is committed to establishing the world’s first platform-based biopharmaceutical company that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the field of gene-editing therapeutics. With technological innovation as its core driving force, the company aims to enhance the drug development efficiency and capabilities of gene-editing therapies, establish AI-driven workflows for the entire CRISPR drug discovery process, and explore uncharted territories in the field of gene-editing treatments. Focused on gene-editing therapies, Westlake Genetech is advancing cutting-edge technology development through high-throughput biotech data generation and iterative deep learning model building. It is also constructing AIdit, an original technology-driven gene-editing therapy development platform, with the goal of fully implementing AI technologies in the gene therapy sector.
