Invizius Limited Aims to Transform Care for Dialysis and Other Extracorporeal Therapies, Focused on Developing Therapies to Suppress Unwanted Innate Immune Responses, Initially Targeting the Reduction of Life-Threatening Inflammatory Reactions. Established in 2017 as a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh, the company is developing its proprietary H-Guard® priming solution, which includes a novel protein that coats the interior of dialysis filters and facilitates dialysis while remaining undetected by the body’s immune system. This suppresses the foreign body response in blood, thereby preventing hostile inflammatory reactions.
