In August 2015, the company announced a strategic partnership with adidas. The goal of the young international team is to make everyone more conscious, active, and thus healthier and longer-lived through Runtastic. The idea for Runtastic was born out of a university project in 2009 and developed by four co-founders—René Giretzlehner, Florian Gschwandtner, Christian Kaar, and Alfred Luger—as a running app for recreational athletes. Over the following years, a comprehensive portfolio has been developed, offering users a better, healthier, and more conscious lifestyle at any time, day or night.
