Capsida Biotherapeutics Inc. is a biotechnology company dedicated to creating a new type of targeted gene therapy for debilitating and life-threatening genetic diseases in both central nervous system (CNS) and non-CNS indications.Current gene therapy methods have shown remarkable efficacy in several rare diseases but are hindered by imprecise targeting. The inability to selectively transduce specific cells and tissues effectively drives higher dosing and the resulting safety liabilities. We are addressing these issues using our proprietary adeno-associated virus (AAV) engineering platform, which generates capsids optimized for targeting specific tissues and cells within disease-affected organs while limiting transduction of off-target tissues and cells unrelated to the disease.Through our next-generation AAV platform, combined with cargo development and state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, we can address previously intractable monogenic and sporadic CNS and non-CNS diseases.
