Myriad myPath

Myriad myPath Laboratory is a CLIA-certified Salt Lake City lab in the United States, where the myPath Melanoma 23-Gene Expression Profile (GEP) test was developed. MyPath Melanoma can serve as an adjunct to histopathology. Reasons why histopathology may not achieve a definitive diagnosis include indeterminate/ambiguous histopathological features, diagnostic disagreements among physicians, or indications for additional testing or consultation. The test measures the expression of 23 genes using the qRT-PCR method and distinguishes between melanoma and nevi with 90-94% sensitivity and 91-96% specificity.
