Basic Information
DalCor is a pioneer in precision medicine for cardiovascular diseases. The company is developing a unique cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP) inhibitor, dalcetrapib, as a potential targeted therapeutic to address residual cardiovascular risk in patients carrying a specific ADCY9 genetic trait, thereby maximizing clinical efficacy. DalCor is currently conducting the dal-GenE study, a Phase 3 precision medicine cardiovascular outcomes trial designed to determine the efficacy of dalcetrapib in a genetically defined population with cardiovascular disease. The trial has enrolled 6,150 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who have the AA genotype at the rs1967309 position of the ADCY9 gene. Approximately 20% of the population possesses this specific genotype. In a retrospective analysis of previous trials, these patients were identified as potentially having improved cardiovascular outcomes following treatment with dalcetrapib. DalCor holds exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize dalcetrapib and CETP inhibitors for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in patients with at least one responsive genotype.
