Basic Information
Kuraray was founded in 1926 to industrialize the then highly advanced artificial silk. In 1950, after World War II, Kuraray successfully became the first in the world to industrialize PVA (PVOH) fiber, Vinylon, producing Japan's first domestically made synthetic fiber and pioneering the country’s chemical fiber industry. In the early 1970s, Kuraray entered the dental industry by introducing the "GK-101" system, which uses a chemical solution to selectively and painlessly remove carious material, attempting to establish a comprehensive dental treatment system including filling materials. Currently, Kuraray is primarily engaged in the manufacturing, development, and sales of dental materials and medical-related products.
