Yaopharma

Yaopharma was founded in 1939, during a time of great peril for the Chinese nation. Over ten patriotic teachers and students from West China Union University, having witnessed firsthand the dire lack of medical resources in wartime China, established Yaopharma with the founding mission to "ensure the permanent self-sufficiency of pharmaceuticals, advance the daily progress of pharmacy, and share the responsibility of national reconstruction and revival." After more than 80 years of development, Yaopharma has grown into a group-oriented, national key high-tech enterprise with a complete pharmaceutical industry chain. Yaopharma is committed to building a globally leading innovation platform. Its innovation focus centers on "new, advanced, and difficult," establishing a research and development system that combines generic and innovative approaches, forming four major innovation platforms: microchannel continuous reaction, impurity separation and synthesis, challenging injectables, and controlled-release drug delivery systems. Each year, 5% of revenue is invested in R&D innovation, with over 60% of products achieving dual regulatory submissions in both China and the U.S. Yaopharma aims to build world-class manufacturing facilities and continuously explores new technologies such as intelligent manufacturing and continuous manufacturing. In the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) sector, its main products have obtained cGMP certification in Europe and the U.S., with more than 75% being exported to these markets. The clindamycin series has become the largest supplier in the U.S. market. In the formulations sector, it became the first pharmaceutical company in China to have prescription formulations pass Canadian cGMP certification; its solid formulation production line is one of the few in China, and the first in Western China, to pass U.S. cGMP certification, with its main formulation products successfully launched in the European and American markets.
