Currently, Greater China has become Bayer's largest single market in Asia. In 2010, Bayer's sales in the region reached approximately 2.9 billion euros. Bayer now employs more than 11,000 people in Greater China, making it one of Bayer's major global investment hubs. Bayer's core strategy in China is to align with the country's economic and social development. Bayer consistently monitors China's progress and maintains close contact with relevant government departments to promptly understand the needs of the Chinese market. In the 12th Five-Year Plan, the Chinese government identified current challenges such as agricultural issues, energy shortages, public health, environmental pollution, etc., and will address these challenges with intensified efforts, adopting sustainable development as a key strategy. Bayer's operations in Greater China are mainly concentrated in three subgroups: Bayer HealthCare, Bayer CropScience, and Bayer MaterialScience, along with a service company, Bayer Technology Services. Bayer operates multiple production plants in Greater China. Currently, local production accounts for an increasing proportion of sales in Greater China. With several major investment projects underway, Bayer is committed to becoming a key partner in China's development.
