Alere acquired the Norwegian company Axis-shield in 2011 and brought its products Nycocard and Afinion under its brand. The product Alere Afinion® AS100 Analyzer is mainly used for rapid point-of-care testing (POCT), providing accurate results during patient consultations, regardless of whether the sample type is whole blood, plasma, or urine.
