Beijing Genecradle Therapeutics Co., Ltd. was established in 2018 and is located in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. It is committed to developing advanced gene therapy drugs using cutting-edge gene research technology, providing breakthrough innovative products for rare diseases and other major illnesses. The company has a 2,000-square-meter R&D laboratory, covering functions such as early-stage research, registration filing, QA management, clinical trials, BD management, human resources, finance, and comprehensive operational management. Led by internationally renowned experts in the field of gene research, over 60% of the R&D team holds master's or doctoral degrees. The company boasts a rich pipeline of gene drug development, spanning multiple research areas including neuromuscular diseases, infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, ophthalmology, and oncology. All ongoing projects are domestic firsts and rank at an internationally leading level. The fastest-progressing AAV vector-based gene drug is expected to receive IND approval by the end of 2021, with single-product sales and development value reaching hundreds of billions of yuan. Over the next three years, it is anticipated that 3-5 innovative gene drugs will file for IND status. Genecradle’s core technical team originated from the National Laboratory of Viral Gene Engineering under the leadership of Academician Hou Yunde, being among the earliest teams in China to enter the field of gene therapy and its core technology, "viral vector systems." Key members of the team have repeatedly led and participated in national-level scientific research projects, including programs like 863, 973, Major Special Projects, Science and Technology Support Plans, and the National Natural Science Foundation. Founders Dong Xiaoyan and Wu Xiaobing, a husband-and-wife duo, were the chief scientists behind the first AAV gene therapy drug in China to apply for clinical trials.
