We have built world-class scientific software for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), a Nobel Prize-winning technology that is being used to generate critical insights into viruses (including SARS-CoV-2) and other drug targets. A microscopy and 3D reconstruction technique for proteins and other biomolecules. Samples containing proteins and protein-ligand complexes are frozen in thin films of ice and then imaged under an electron microscope. The resulting microscopic data is analyzed through sophisticated algorithms to determine the contents of the sample and resolve the 3D atomic structure of embedded protein molecules in their near-native state.
